| Hi everyone,
Shoulda introduced myself sooner, but never late than never as they say.
My name is Ray, live a few minutes east of San Diego. Have been riding on 2 wheels for 45 years. Am retired from the USPS.
I have owned pretty much every major motorcycle brand over the years. My first scooter was an '87 Helix I bought new in '90. Sold it a couple of years ago after 102k miles. I then tried a Yamaha Majesty for awhile, but my bad back just didn't like the seating position and short legroom. Bought a '12 SW ABS a couple of months ago. So far have added a +4" Clearview shield, Buttrest-to-backrest conversion, Givi E45 trunk and 28g Dr. Pulley sliders. Would love to put Fehling crash bars on it, but have been unable to find a source.
Other bikes include a '13 Suzuki DL650 Adventure and a '10 Honda NHX110 Elite which my around town pack mule. |

| Welcome Ray! It is amazing how our lives parallel. I am retired from the USPS also and have ridden motorcycles since 1969. Only difference is my first scooter is my Silver Wing.
It is a 2012 like yours and I truly enjoy riding it, 11K in just a bit over a year. |

| Overdue No fine for being overdue. I think, from what I have read, that the crash bars are more for looks than protection on the Silver Wing. Glad to have you join us. |

Check out Two Wheel Touring Products: http://www.twtouring.com/products.htm Good link, but unfortunately they show everything for the Silver wing as "out of stock" sigh. |

Many, many times. Sometimes I ride up there, get something to drink and walk up and down the main street looking at bikes. Never get tired of going there. |

| Good link, but unfortunately they show everything for the Silver wing as "out of stock" sigh.[/quote] Have called & e-mailed Ian Gibbs a couple of times, but with no response. The SW items have been listed as "Out of Stock" on the website for months, so I'm not sure they are still in business or not. |

| We are waay off topic from the original post here. So if this "Fehling rails" topic is to continue how about someone starting a new post/topic.
Meanwhile, you could contact Fehling directly to inquire about availability or forthcoming availability of those rails: www.fehling.de

| I ordered my Fehlings bling (for my X9) direct from Fehlings and yes, "Hi Yo" is correct in saying the bars are more cosmetic than protective.
I must add that the chrome-plating is not as good as it was in the past and the bars have a tendency to rust at the joints. I smeared Vaseline on them - it was satisfactory. :-) |
