| I have found that I have to slam the seat down very hard to get it to lock, so much so I have taken the bulb out of the under seat storage light. Is there any way to ease this ? Thanks in advance. |

| I don't have to slam my seat but what I do is push hard at the back of the seat. I can and do sometimes ride without the seat latched. I also think that only the back latch is working on my seat. It's been that way from the first day I have it and I have never seen a need to change it. |

+1 for me. A good idea to remove the underseat light bulb - if the seat doesn't latch properly, the light could/would stay on, and you could end up with a flat battery. |

| Yes the underseat light bulb was the first thing to go. I always have a LED light in my pocket that works better than the underseat light. |

| I do the same as model28a to close my seat and to prevent a flat battery also took out the bulb; it wasn't bright enough to be of any use anyway! |

| Welcome to the site.
I have problems with the seat latch on my wife's Reflex and on the Silverwing. Slamming either of them usually doesn't do it. I learned that if you just close the lid and then press in the middle of the back of the seat it latches every time.
Enjoy your ride! |

I replaced the light with one that had a manual on/off switch. You can get it from a Honda car dealer parts department. Use the search feature to get the part number. I only turn it on when needed. Works for me. |

Works for me. Wingman, I did the same with my Swing. It works for me too. Wasn't that expensive and easy to do. Better than a dead battery. Plenty of times my seat wasn't closed all the way. Even though I try to be careful. |
