| I am making my own hand deflectors, with ideas copied from others on various forums, with my own twist added in to make them unique. I am thinking of anchoring on the brake fluid reservoir cover. One riding buddy told me that he has seen rugged and much beefier covers with holes for attachments of other extras. Problem is that he cannot remember any more about them. I have tried several searches for custom covers, and can't seem to find any that would do for my project. Buddy said there was one US guy who made them and sold them thru forums, much like Dennis on here. If this jogs your memory, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks |

| Motorcycle Larry (MCL) makes a custom cover for a RAM Ball Mount (RBM). http://www.motorcyclelarry.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11&products_id=8 Not certain that everything needs an acronym (NCTENAA). Just a government contractor that thinks acronyms are dumb. |

| I have a Motorcycle Larry cover with a threaded hole for a RAM ball. I'd hesitate to hang anything as 'structural' as a hand-deflector on it though; I think it's a casting unlikely to survive a hard impact.

| Some had problem with the hand deflector hitting after market wind screen in a turn.I was looking at the new Kawasaki 300 scooter and they had a cool looking hand win deflectors as accessories .I don't think that scooter is across the pond yet. |

| That, too, was a problem I had although it was only on absolute full-lock. The bike would have failed the annual MOT Test in the UK because of that. |

| Thank you all, guys. I will check the motorcyclelarry website and see if I want to get the cover. We don't have an MOT for motorcycles in New Brunswick, although neighboring provinces do. I am not worried about that aspect, but there is a safety factor to consider from my own standpoint. I could use the mirrors' tabs also. I am not getting a wider windshield, so I could just keep things within safe limits. I'll keep you guys posted. I have all winter to work on this.

| Understood about the 'clearance' aspect The guards I adapted did fit on the mirror mountings and proved very satisfactory. |
