Clovis Ca.

From Clovis California, just purchased a 2003 Silver Wing with 2600 miles, it’s super clean. The owner had it at a vacation home and used it very little. He did use fuel stabiliser, it started right up and runs like a champ. I’ve put about a hundred miles on it so far.

I’ve changed the oil so far and ordered new tires.

I've always had dual sports, first scooter.

My dad has a Yamaha majesty, so we’re planning a few trips already.

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you will really be impressed with your "new" SW. I grew up just a bit north of you, in Modesto.

Welcome to the forum.

Not to rain on your parade, but the belt is 11 years old and could very well be subject to rapidly failing. It won't be the first time that there has been a sudden belt failure on a S/W which has been sitting unloved for too long. So you might want to either order a new belt to have on-hand if you are of the DIY persuasion or budget for your local Honda dealer to handle the job.

My honda sealer wanted $147 for the belt, I've been looking online for a better deal.

Suggest you get a Honda Service Manual, assume you have 24,000 miles on it and CHECK/CHANGE everything on the Maintenance Schedule. You never know for sure what someone else has or has not checked - best to get a fresh start on all of the Maintenance.

Don't ride it. Put it in storage and wait another 11. Just kidding.
Here in Santa Barbara there are more and more scooters with steroids popping up all the time.
If the rain God is good to you up North, please get down and pray for rain down here. We are so dry that I stopped giving my cat a dish of water and now just give him a wet sponge to suck on.
