I just installed the dandy light bar/bracket from DennisB that lets you mount your driving lights up on the front fairing. I had previously had my lights mounted on the forks where the reflectors were. This is much improved since the lights don't bounce around near as much. The bracket fits perfectly with no drilling. Nice work Dennis, and thanks. See my album for photos.

I added the light bar today. Had to wait until dark to make sure I did a good job. I DID A GOOD JOB. Bar works great and lights are really bright. I called Dennis and told him he will have to stop calling them fog or spot lights. They are more like LANDING LIGHTS. Roosters crowed when I first turned them on.
Thanks go to Dennis for his help in sending schematics and some extra parts. ( My 03 bike required some adjustment to hardware to fit the holes in the bar.) He also game me some good advice about getting the hole just right. Switch fit perfectly.
Thanks to Jeff for his pictorial to remove windshield. I could not have done it without that help.

I just put some pics on the album showing some of the project.

Gary

I also just installed a light bar from Dennis. What difference it makes driving to work every morning. While I was at it I also installed a CooCase V48 with all the bells and whistles and a power adapter in the lock box. It was a very long afternoon. Light bar was the easyiest thing to install. Power adapter was a night mare because had to pull entire front end off. (hmmm couple extra bolts... uggg) Coocase was easy to wire but dont use twisted throttles instructions where to drill the wing. they show a v28 being mounted and if you were to use there suggestions on the v48 it wont work. (and no I didnt trust them I figured them out on my own.) Coocase is well made, but a couple things I am not much of a fan of. First is the led lights. Seems that when you pay that much the lights could at least really glow... I am not impressed with the brightness. When you apply the breaks they do get brighter but I think that level of brightness should be the running lights and the brake lights should be even brighter. Maybe changing the inline resister might help that. Case doesn't go on and off real easy... putting it back on is kind of like a monkey with a football... (you get the picture) and it would have been nice to have a interior light in the box. I will go and get one to put in eventually. But it has been nice to throw my helmet and coat in the box and now I can leave some tools and my rain gear in the lower trunk. (well once it stops the raining here in Dallas). thanks Dennis you did a great job with the bracket now we gotta figure out how to make a mounting bracket that would wrap around the underside of the bike so we can put footpegs on and still make it easy to drop the bracket to get other panels on and off as needed.
