| Hi I am new here and haven't rode a scooter since 1985 and that was a Honda metropolitan. I am a 47 years young grandmother and want to decide if a silverwing is right for me.

| Hi mawmaw, Welcome to this forum. I'm sort of new myself and new to the scooter world. I bought this Silverwing from my sister in FL a few weeks ago and love it. I'm retired and will be 68 in July. The Wing is easy to handle and will very easily do freeway speeds. |

| Hello new member, I read you have ridden a small scooter 2o years ago. The SilverWing weighs up fast at 550 pounds wet. Most of that weight is down low and it balances very well. I think it rides nearly effortless but I have experience with several large bikes. You didn't say how tall you are. For safety sake your feet should be flat on the ground. You can easily handle this scooter at speed, it is when stopped or in slow tight turns you may get in trouble. A lot of confidence can be gained by taking a rider safety course. The one I attended was 16 hours long over a weekend. It was equally split between classroom and riding time and every one would benefit from attending. I do recommend you take this class. I'm very new as a scooter rider but every time I go out I enjoy it more. Mine is a 2011, just out of a crate. There are low mile Swings out there and you can save $ over the cost of new by buying one a few years old. However this goes, welcome to the site and I hope you find a fit in a scooter to suit your needs. |
