PostSubject: Air filter   Air filter I_icon_minitimeWed Jul 02, 2014 7:33 pm

Hello all. Looking to do some maintenance on my scooter tomorrow. Anyone have the part number for the air filter? Also, gear oil or regular motor oil for the rear wheel?

Thanks

https://www.silverwing600.com/t56-air-filter-pictorial

The above is a great pictorial to changing the air filter, it is quite a project but nothing like a Goldwing GL1800! I too used a K&N (ducking) so I do not have the number for the OEM filter. I use K&N mainly because of the time needed to get to the filter.

As for the rear wheel, I used the same 10W-40 motor oil that I use for the engine oil. 3 quarts of oil will do both the engine and the rear end. Gear oil will work also but Honda calls for 10W-40. On contrary the Goldwing specifies 85W+ GEAR oil.

Good luck.

You should always specify the model, either FSC600A (antilock brakes) or FSC600D ( non-antilock) as well as the year of your scooter for parts and service requests here. Luckily for you, the air cleaner is the same for all models and years. The part you want is 17230-MCT-000, priced at $28.40, here:

RnC,

You also mentioned the Rear Drive Oil so I did a Pictorial years ago. If you do it the way the manual says you will need to remove a lot of stuff. If you follow mine you just need an open end wrench and a small oil an with a longer thin spout.

There are many Pictorials in the Pictorial section if you are interested.
