Is it me or the K&n filter does not fit right

I placed the filter in and it seems like the right edge towards front of bike does not lay completely flat down, the left side is perfect.Seems like the edge of filter needs to be shaved off a bit.

I think I was able to get mine in all the way. I can't exactly remember but I think I did have to push it some to make it fit. If you need to shave it some it won't hurt anything though.
