Just finished 3k on my new 2013 Silverwing. Every mile wearing only tank top and swimsuit. I follow Hawaiian law and do not wear a helmet. Rarely go over 40mph. This scooter is so maneuverable and comfortable, I'm 6 ft tall and fits me like a glove. The fast excelleration is a blast. I stopped road riding thirty years ago in Upstate NY.....and that was way before cell phone distractions. Love this damn scooter. Whoop whoop

It's the law in Hawaii to NOT wear a helmet? |

Staunkfinger's new here, but posting stuff like being proud of driving his Swing helmet less and in a tank top and shorts isn't going to get him much cred here.

Welcome to the forum. It's an extremely good one for SW owners. I've never heard of a no helmets law but I'd have to be a rebel and violate it. Congrats on a nice bike and enjoy the forum.

Welcome to the forum. I guess the helmet and gear are a matter of choice. I always wear a helmet but have in past worn shorts. After some "rash" and cactus thorns I have reconsidered my dress code...

Just got back from Hawaii and was told at the car rental agency that there is no requirement in Hawaii for insurance. Noted that most riders on any kind of two wheels do not wear helmets. Rented a BMW scooter last year in Waikiki and the guy made a point of telling me that I did not have to wear my helmet. I said "are you nuts". I also had a m/c jacket and pants on and he just laughed. I took my daughter to emergency in Burnaby a couple of years ago where they bought in a fella who was riding his motorcycle in shorts and a t shirt and took a spill. He was laughing about it until the doctor started picking the gravel out of his arms and legs. Then he was screaming like a school girl.
