| Many of you may have battery-tender pigtails for easy/quick charging/storing. I found, in this case on Amazon, a battery-tender plug in that you attach to the pigtail and it lets you know what the voltage levels are. It's $15 and real handy. We already found the battery/charging voltage low (11 volts and change...) on my sons VLX, did some rectifier connection maintenance, and surprise, the battery-tender read 13.8... yea!

You won't find a socket in yours unless it was added by a previous owner as an accessory. N. American Swings do not have that socket as standard equipment like Euro spec Swings do. |

On Amazon: Battery Tender 081-0157 Black Quick Disconnect Plug with LCD Voltage Display I use something similar, also at Amazon (Optimate TecMate battery tester). more expensive ($35+), no pigtails. Clamps directly to battery posts |

| On the UK FJS Silver Wings you simply fit the supplied 12v plug to the Optimate lead and into the 12v socket inside the left glovebox pocket. I keep mine hooked up all the time. |

| Just received my Battery Tender 081-0157 Black Quick Disconnect Plug with LCD Voltage Display today from Amazon. My Goldwing battery was spot on just above 13V just like it was supposed to be. My Reflex battery was another story. I have noticed for some time now that even with the battery tender hooked up the battery would still occasionally discharge. When I hooked up the new tester I found that it did not even register, I had a blown fuse in the Battery Tender lead and it wasn’t even getting charged. Getting new fuse tomorrow. Many thanks to everyone on this forum for all the helpful information. |
