| Hello to everyone from south MS. Been lurking for a few weeks and decided it was time to sign up. I'm 57 and been riding motorcycles since I was 10. Last year I decided to sell my touring bike and buy a scooter. I planned to buy a TMAX but couldn't find one that I wanted so I bought a used Majesty. Six weeks later I found a good deal on a TMAX and bought it too. Alternated between them for several months and then decided to look for another motorcycle so I sold the Majesty and started looking for one to keep the TMAX company. I've test ridden a few since I started looking and just haven't found one that's as much fun as the scooters. So now I'm thinking about buying a Silverwing for two up trips and using the TMAX for solo fun. Hope to learn more about them here.

Welcome Kirk! I finally decided to buy my SW over a Tmax but only after weeks strugling to make my mind up. They both have almost the same configuration and performance and both for two riders. What makes you feel better on using the SW for two  riders?

Thanks for the welcome. Morelos1, I haven't ridden a Silverwing enough to know but it seems like it would be better for 2 up for long distance. I'm not sure about this though and my wife has only ridden short distances with me on the TMAX. I plan to keep the TMAX even if I buy another bike.

If you decide to 'wing it, GN Gonzales in Baton Rouge has, as of last week, 2 brand new 2012 Silverwings @ $6000.

Maybe someone can loan you their SWing so you can try it out and see if it is (much) better that your TMAX. Guessing that you might want to consider some other bike that is 'step up' from your TMAX for touring - but not sure what I would recommend.

I went to a Majesty (2007) after years on "regular" bikes and commuted for 5 yrs on it and LOVED it. Sold it and missed the not-shifting. Bought a 2012 Swing leftover and really like the bike. This is a great site with lots of info. I didn't thing the TMax compared to the SWing as the Tmax was a performance scooter and the Swing was a larger touring-type scooter although I commute on it also.
