Couldn't figure out where to put this----so don't edit me out.
Decided to go to event at Barber MC track in AL. Rained FRi so Sat AM decided on another try----rain so my TU250 kinda out, decided on SilverWing...but then my wife said she wanted to go.....if I would DRIVE my Hyundai Genisis, which I hadn't driven in several months....so gave in. At least the 2ton plus tank, 3.8 liter got 35mpg in the rain.
POINT: I had seen ticket prices in the ads as $20 a day, $45 for 3 days. High
Got there----they wanted $40 for one day, so did a U turn and went home. No MC event worth that much. This $40 did not include Museum visit which would be another $15.
Saw lots of trailer bikers, dressed in short pants and slippers, one big scooter and me in car. Last time in car for me = no fun.
Having walked thru the Museum before, it is worth a visit @$15 for the day as it is probably best in world at this time----fun to see a lot of the bikes you have wasted money on in the past.
My take is: they had probably advertised the prices, turned the ticket sales/gates over to a contractor who just plain ripped people off at the gate-----has most customers had ridden/driven some distance to get there.....they just paid.
