| Has anyone here had the occasion to replace the Parking Brake Light-Switch?
Mine is erratic, at best, and not functioning at all most of the time. It has lead me to run several miles with the brake partially set. Not a good thing when you're on a 3000+ mile ride.
I removed the right pocket, and the switch is right 'there', but appears to be attached to a very heavy bracket. It's only a micro switch, and when I 'play' with it the light will come back on, then cut out again. Looks as if the switch has dirty contacts, or burnt contacts.
Anyone have any idea how to remove the switch?..."The book" sez to pull the front end, but that seems to be a lot of agro when I can put my hand on it with little trouble.

| Mine was intermittent for a while. I adjusted the parking brake and it began working again. I don't know for sure if that was the source of the problem, but it works fine now. That was middle of last year and I haven't had a problem since. |

| I had mine replaced under warranty by the dealer when the scoot had about 3,000 km on it....Honda uses a lubricant which tends to get a bit thick and sticky which I believe was the issue. At any rate the dealer replaced the switch. He said that he knew why I brought it in for the repair as opposed to doing it myself. They had the front of the scoot stripped down to the frame.
By the way after a few mods on the scoot, I've dropped a significant number of stainless washers, bolts and rubber windsheild gromets into the front end along with the subsequent tear down. I'm considering a help line.
It's amazing how many bits and pieces there are on an S'wing that you just can't get to! |

| Hi Gas Man, The last time I took the bottom cover off, all the things that I had droped were there waiting for me. That cover is easy to take off and you never know, all your lost hardware just might be waiting for you to rediscover them. Good Luck, DennisB |
