| The other day a chap from Arkansas sends me a text message and asks me if I'd like to trade my 2005 Honda CB 900 919 that's for sale on CL for his much newer 2013 Honda CB 500x. As I pondered it and kept looking at the dirt road to my house turning into a mud bog, I thought perhaps this what I should be riding. I'm selling the 919 because it's too bloody fast for me, so I returned back to riding Maxiscooters recently. I had also just put on new tires, belt and sliders and bought a set of HyperPro springs for the Swing. The idea was inticing as it would open up a new area of riding with light off road. However I declined his offer and will stick with my SW and sell the Burgman and 919.
Yesterday when I asked Deb if she still wanted to ride with me, she said yes, just not long distance. The CB 500x is a great solo bike but for riding 2up looks uncomfortable for the passenger. If she is still wanting to ride with me that takes presidence over other things and I need to have a do all bike that will do everything which is the SW for me. It can carry groceries, comfortably carry a passenger, tour, do moto camping and long distance touring. So the SW wins out over the CB 500x. |

| It took me quite a bit of time to come to the conclusion that going with only a scooter was what I really wanted. It took a bit longer to settle on just which scooter I liked best. The decision between the SW and the C650GT was close but the greater payload and power on the BMW sold me. I could see myself having a SW along with it eventually. The SW has a slight edge over the BMW for around town errands. The BMW has a better ride at freeway speeds with it's larger wheels and long wheelbase. That's the problem no one makes a single Maxi that's best for everything. |

Firstly, what is your name good friend? I like the personal touch of using someone's name when talking with them. I think my wife was relieved I made that choice and how could I sell my birthday present as Deb got me the SW last month for my birthday. The BMW sounds allot like the B650 as it's bigger and heavier for touring. Sometimes I wonder why I don't keep my 650 because it rides so nice and had the expensive drive belt replacement done recently. With 97k on her though, I don't have the confidence to take it on a trip and risk a break down. Have an interested buyer coming in from Louisiana this weekend to look at the Burgman so it may be gone soon. |

| Thanks Paul. This morning I rode the Burgman to work as I had failed to notice that the inspection and tags had expired back in February and had to get them done today too. The big Burgman is such a joy to ride that I still wonder why I'm parting with it? I'm having a harder time letting that one go than my Honda 919. |

| I feel much the same selling my K1100LT. It's a great bike. It's a '95 with only 12k miles on it and looks like a show bike. To be realistic it really needs to go since I can't really ride it for many miles at a time before needing to get off to ease my knees. I'd rather someone who appreciates it can have it instead of ending up being a garage queen at my place. |
