| Interesting. Mohawk is an action camera, activity tracker, communication device, navigation unit, music player, black box and emergency alert system - all wrapped into one. Built by enthusiasts, Mohawk is designed for easy and seamless use across a wide range of action sports. Technology should never get in the way of the experience, and Mohawk is technology made simple. The smart helmet revolution is finally here.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/fusar-mohawk-make-any-helmet-smart#/ It sounds like a well thought out product, but is it not asking too much to fork out the money now and maybe receive your goods half a year later? I would not recommend this to four of my mates to get a free one. Image if they all lost their dough too? |

The idea of Indiegog and Kickstarter is that you have to look at it as more than just buying a product. You are investing in a startup company, helping it bring a new product to market. Without investors they could not develop or bring to market the product. Sure, as in any investment, you can lose your a**. Or it can also be successful and as a reward for your investment you get the product at a reduced price before the general public. I've invested in 3 Kickstarter projects, all were fairly high profile. Each released product and as soon as I got the product I turned around and sold them on eBay. Since the products were not available to the public yet they actually sold for more than MSRP and I was able to turn a fairly decent return on my investment. |

| The only problem I'd have with it other than the price would be having the thing fastened on the helmet. If you're in an accident it might mean having your helmet confiscated as evidence. Worse yet one's helmet could testify against it's wearer. |

| Or it could be used against the the other person involved. If you aren't doing anything wrong then there is no reason to worry. |

I agree with hankster that wearing the camera is more likely to be beneficial to us. I like to believe that we mature maxi scooter riders generally ride in a smart and defensive manner and an accident is more likely to involve another guilty party. Plus you would have to be out of action completely before a cop could take the camera off you. And this gadget is really so much more than only the camera. I just don't have the trust and nerves to invest in a crowdfunding venture. I will rather wait and pay the full price for it when it hits the market and passes a few reviews. |

| Well if it's a like Swiss Army knive type of gadget it'll just be like owning a Swiss Army knife. You buy one with all sorts of gadgets, only use a couple of the blades/functions and occasionally play with the other bits. Then when the novelty wears off you'll chuck in a drawer with all the other junk you've thought you needed but in reality don't. |

| Interesting product but it seems to me that a smartphone (which many people carry anyway) can do most of it and a cheap helmet camera can be had for 40 quid or so. Nice to have it all in one package but it does seem pricey even without having to lend them cash for at least 6 months. |
