| Purchased a 2007 SW with 3050 miles last June. Had a local dealer replace the oil, rear oil, spark plugs, brake fluid, coolant, and battery. We had some bad rain storms so it took the shop a little over a week to get to my scooter (so many people had lost power they were concentrating on servicing peoples' generators). A few days after I picked up my serviced SW, I was off for a loosely planned trip westward from New Jersey . When I say loosely, I mean my plan was to go west. Over the next 13 days (round trip), I rode a little over 4500 miles. Some of the highlights were BBQ dinner in Kansas City, touring the Harley Davidson plant in Kansas City, Bike Night at the Quaker Steak and Lube in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the Badlands in South Dakota, the Friday night concert in Spearfish, SD, fourth of July at Mount Rushmore and The Crazy Horse Monument in the Black Hills, and Devils Tower, WY. I rode several scenic byways/routes, along with the hiways and interstates. |

| G'day Scootertooter and welcome to the forum. So in 2 weeks you more than doubled the distance your SWing did in the preceding 9 years!! Nice work and what a fabulous tour you did. |

| Welcome! We all wish we could do the kind of trip you completed in a couple of weeks. A few of us actually do it. Most of us get by with lots of shorter trips! It doesn't matter. It's all about the ride!

| I really envy you. That took guts to just take off like that and see the country. And what a great machine the SW is. Congratulations. |

| Thanks for the Welcome. The Silverwing is such a fine ride it makes traveling short ad far pleasant and accessible. My last ride was a 2009 Kawasaki Super Sherpa 250cc dual sport. Went as far north as Quebec and as far south as the Skyline Drive's southern terminus. The SW is far more comfortable! (The Super Sherpa is a great bike for what it was designed for but knobbies always make long distance a buzzy experience. ). |

| Overall, I did not take a whole lot of pictures. Some on my not-smart phone (like the statue of the Green Giant in Blue Earth, MN) and some with my point-and-shoot Cannon (like the one below, taken at a scenic pull-out on the Needles Hwy in the Black Hills). |

| Welcome scootertooter! Brave man to have such faith in a strange to you bike, but then it WAS a Honda and a SW is a Honda through and through.
Not to get too personal but is that handle something to do with motorscooters and a bowel problem? |
