| Hey all,
John or Rev62 here outta Dayton, OH. As I mentioned in my profile, I am medically retired. I used to ride a Honda 750 and wrecked it about 9 years ago. Compressed my L3 in my back and had to have a total shoulder replacement done on my right shoulder. Have been extremely gun shy to get back in the saddle until this past weekend. I went to a church revival this past weekend and a friend of mine was there on a Roman 250 scoot. After a little convincing, he got me on that thing and OMG.......I'm in love all over again. I am taking it slow, starting out with a scooter and maybe one day back into a full sized bike again. I have heard over the years some tremendous stuff about the Silverwing but never really paid too much attention to it before. Now I find myself totally enticed to learn as much as I can about them before taking the plunge and buying one. I am open to any and all information pertaining to the Silverwing and have a feeling I will be looking for a good used one before too long.
Here's to hoping to make new friends in the forum and getting a scoot under me before too long.
Rev62....(John) |

| Hi John. Wecome to the forum.
Sorry to hear of your accident. Can't blame you for not getting back on a bike. I'm not sure I would after the experience you have had.
I have had my Silverwing for about a month and love it. They seem to be quite reliable and easy to work on. I bought a 2009. Just shear luck as I found out later that the 09 and possibley as early as 07 had an oxygen sensor and ABS brakes added. The O2 sensor increased fuel mileage. Others will have more info. But just a couple points that make a difference in model years.
Good luck what ever you decide and welcome back to two wheels. |

| Hi John and welcome to the forum! I've had my 08 SWing for three seasons now and love it. I'm a bit older than you but consider this my "Old People" bike. It will do interstate speeds without breathing hard. My SWing gets around 50 mpg depending on how I ride it. I might be wrong, but I've heard that the 08 was the first year with an oxygen sensor. Don't quote me on that... All in All it's easy to ride and has great handling. I also have a 74 Honda CB 750 but I'm preferring the SWing now. |

| Welcome to the forum from the Land of Lincoln! I've had no accidents, but I last rode in 1973 before buying my '02 SWing a year ago; since then, 5,000 miles. I am repeating a 1,000 mile trip from the Chicago area to the Kansas City area this coming weekend along a little different route. The SWing is a wonderful bike. It's easy to ride and loves to be ridden. Glad you joined the forum. We look forward to your posts. |
