took a ride today---Clingmon Dome TN

Rode to Clingmon Dome TN today---highest point in TN---couldn't see much, clouds that later turned to powerful showers. About 350 miles, at least one tank at over 60mpg----slow speed/fresh Air Cleaner/new plugs can do this.

At 78, in a few days, the feet forward riding position can bother me...in addition to taking some good bike control away.

Dressed wrong---cool morning so leather jacket, heavy helmet with face shield/Aerostich Kombat lite boots(day turned into 90 degrees F), so boots and leather jacket got too hot, helmet,too and as day progressed got heavy feeling.

Lots of traffic---lots of trikes, going slow with for the most part overweight riders!!----for the most part roads in good condition, exception I-40 E....real third world, and a few spots on I-75 S...all of this on the quickest way to get home when hot and tired.

Linked Brakes...which I don't like with steep conditions, not being able to control rear alone as balancing aide----but I understand as much as 90% of the public cannot/does not ride very well---the value of linked brakes for many.

Doesn't sound like your most enjoyed ride John. Hope the next one is better ... and without the rain.

Any 2 wheeled trip is enjoyable, but some can be painful/hot/wet/cold, etc.
