| When I was waking up the S'Wing this spring I noticed some " white powder " on the area below the battery cover, took cover off and found corrosion around the negative terminal. This was on a Power Source sealed battery. I set it aside and replaced it with a new battery. Today I used it as a power supply to test horns. The battery had been in the upright position but it still developed a very noticeable pile of corrosion around the same terminal, this sealed battery apparently is leaking around the base of the terminal. It's easy to forget a battery when it's working but a check on it's condition may save a headache in the future. |

| Sorry you are having troubles.
I take my battery out of the bike if the bike is going to be dormant for awhile and bring the battery inside and keep it on a battery tender. |

| Thanks it was in a warmer than outside garage on a tender. I was just surprised to see a sealed unit leak like this one, hidden under the battery cover it went unnoticed for a couple months. |

| Bummer. Did fluid leak out onto the bike? Any damage you can see? |

| Just old school but I still have the habit of greasing the terminals after the cable is connected. It does tend to reduce corrosion from condensation around the terminals. |

None noted, just the white powder / corrosion, I laid it on it's side for a couple days and no liquid seen. |

| For what it's worth: I've had my Lithium Ion Battery Tender battery in my 08 Swing for a couple of years now with no problems. In the winter I put the Battery Tender Jr. on about every other month just to bring up the charge. There's no acid to leak and so far so good. It starts the SWing with no problems and everything operates great.
Although I've read that they aren't the best in cold weather but seeing as I DON'T ride in cold weather it works great for our two weeks of summer here in Minnesota... :lol!: |

| I put a battery tender on my battery about every two weeks or after a ride. So far so good. Battery is about a year old. |
