Rodeo my first scooter (a Vespa) in 1963 and had a blast. Today was a double barrel blast!! It was only a 40 mile ride but I was impressed. Certainly handles different than the Road King I have riding for 14 years and 75,000 miles. It's going to take time to get acquainted but I am looking forward to the challenge of mastering a new machine. Among the other extras, former owner installed the 12v receptacle in the dash compartment. I'm removing the throttle lock as I see it as a safety issue for me. I did find a wire hanging down on the left side next to the belt cover. It is orange in color and not plugged into anything. I did notice that the light underneath the seat did not work.

That light might be on purpose. I undid mine as they have a tendency to stay on and drain the battery from what I understand. With all the LED lighting options, flashlights and do dads, one can really do without it.

I took the bulb out of my SWing when I first got it. Don't really need it.

Welcome from o-HI-o. The throttle lock can get you in trouble in some cases, I seldom use mine.

Yes, I know. With my neuropathy I can't trust my feet (hence the new scoot) and the hands not so much. What I don't need is to get into a tough spot.

That makes two of us, one reason the Gold Wing found a new home, I went over 2 years without 2 wheels, no happily riding again on the Silverwing. No problem under ordinary riding with the throttle lock on but if you need to make a sudden stop you MUST remember to roll of the throttle first before braking. ( if you can )
