| I changed front tire today--replacing IRC Honda recommended. Been changing tire my self since 1955--95% of the time,in over 1.5 million miles, maybe 450 tires. Motorcycle tires easier to get off rim compared to low profile/stiff sidewall modern scooter tires. Modern scooter tires=pain in butt.
New tire, round, balanced easy with "Ride On",handles fine/nice feeling at slow speeds, works well on Chattanooga ruff streets.
Tire: Metzler Feel Free in correct 120/80-14 size.
Past I liked Vespa with spare tire--Vespa= split rim, tube=nice.

| John I feel some of your pain, but until you have changed a GL 1800 tire (s) you haven't felt THAT pain, really tough tire to change on a non powered changer. I provide my tire changer to those that want to change theirs but now I just watch |

| And to think bikes/ scooters used to be designed so easy to remove wheels---hinged rear fenders(BMW -Harley, on board tool kits, European bikes came with tire pump, even Harley had wheel hubs with lug nuts (allan head) as I recall. |

| The 1500 was a pain yes, the 1800 of course was a standard wheel bolt on. Tube type tire were always easier, I can change my 600 X 16 front tractor tire by HAND no tire changer needed, tubes are the reason.

| I changed my rear tire on my swing yesterday , all by hand what a pain in the a.. I broke 1 tire spoon getting the new one back on, this is defiantly not for the faint of hart , it was a 4 beer deal. got it on, put some ride on in and rides great. I will add the old tire the original had 17,400 miles on it and still had tread |

| I found the front tire of Goldwings the worst to change due to their short stiff sidewalls. Pulling the wheels off a GW isn't that bad really. Pulling the wheels from my GT is a piece of cake, single sided swing arms are GREAT!! |
