| I am a 73 Yr Old live in Goshen, IN. I have been a rider for almost 60 years and now am slowing down a bit. Having lost a bit of upper body strength makes getting on a lighter weight unit necessary. It appears I will be receiving a wrecked 2008 SWing. Damage starting with front cover/turn signal/left rear cover/drive cover. This is the reason that prompted my joining and I wish to express my thanks for allowing me join. Purchase price is $600.00 - Not being able to ride the unit (weather) I hope I am not buying a major problem. I will be happy to receive any thoughts, hints, and instructions. |

| Welcome to the forum. You are sure to find all the info you need to get your SWing on the road next spring. It seems you will need a complete set of tupperware. Ebay is my usual place to start. Sounds like a great winter project, if you have a nice warm garage.

| Thanks for the welcome messages. I have been watching eBay but right now there is not a lot of the body parts that I am needing. I am finding listings for new oem parts. I have also been searching for a salvage/recycling business but finding little. Will still welcome suggestions or sources. KH |

| Welcome!
Good sign: It was running before it got wrecked. Probably a better prognosis than a seized up barn find. Cosmetics are easier to fix.
When I spilled my BMW F800 ST, the insurance estimate was just shy of $5,000, even though the only engine parts were a scratched muffler and a broken foot shifter. Could hardly see the scratch on the muffler, so it wasn't replaced, and the shift lever was just a bolt-on fix ($150). The rest was front fairing, turn signals, and left scratches on mirror, bar end, and saddle bags. Insurance quoted all parts to be replaced (all BMW OEM parts are expensive). A little black touch-up paint and a car body shop repaired the left front fairing. After about $800 worth of parts and cosmetic work, the bike looked and ran like new, and is still probably running out there somewhere. |

| Welcome KH
I dont know if our member siaturag could help as he breaks SW regularly & perhaps come to an arrangement over prices v shipping.
Otherwise if you wish to research shipping costs perhaps bid on UK sites & I'm more than happy to send onward - Attachments

| or you could go 'necked' - body parts wont be 'cheap' (lets be honest in good running and cosmetic condition an 08 might get $2500 (if it has ABS, low miles etc.) but as a project it will be fun to see where you go. |

+1 but don't tell Meldrew Pointlessy taking my forum name in vain for reasons best known to yourself. But for once you're right 'don't tell Meldrew'. Because I don't have the remotest interest in other members 'project' Silver Wings. Buy a decent one and spend your time riding it. |
