Having just seen this video, this item was definitely NOT in the bottom when draining the old oil, where can I get this from please (complete & preferably in the UK or Europe), many thanks.

What exactly was missing bud ? If you had the spring but not the strainer drop out, the odds are that the strainer was stuck up inside the casing.
Other than that, check cms.nl for a parts diagram, check the part number from the item number & google

Bern Strainer and spring missing completely, so only can assume that previous owner lost it somehow, will have a look on that site for the parts, thanks mate
