| I bought a 2004 S'wing with 3,000 miles three weeks ago. It's been finicky starting but now it just won't start.
I follow the steps: Side kick stand up Left brake handle on Run switch on Ignition switch on Dash lights on then off (except 1) I hear some clicks Push starter button
...then Dash lights go off then come on again No sounds Scooter won't start
It rained yesterday as I rode to work. I got it started to ride home, but it just wouldn't do anything this morning. The battery is brand new and fully charged.
Any ideas from you experienced owners?
Thank you for any ideas!

| You might not be squeezing the brake lever hard enough or far enough. |

| Did you try some WD40 spray on the switch housings ? May be worth a try where you rode in the rain. You don't mention the sound of the fuel pump, just the clicks. You should hear the pump when you switch on. If you don't , that might be the starting point for trouble-shooting.

| Check the side stand switch also. Be careful what you use on the switches make sure it's safe for plastics. |

| Assuming that Missery is in the UK, and noting that the UK uses some serious brine & de-icing stuff on roadways in winter, there might be a fair bit of corrosion beneath the tupperware. You might want to remove that left side panel and check the ground (earth) battery cable-to-frame connection.
On the hot side you might be able to bypass the starter relay. Of course you've placed the scoot on the center stand first. The relay is hidden under a rubber boot below the fuses. The battery hot wire connects to one side of the relay and the other side connects direct to the starter motor.

| "Assuming Missery is in the UK"
I thought he meant Missouri.
Originally from Mark Twain: "There are three proper ways to pronounce my home state. If you are born in my state, you pronounce it 'Misourah'; if you are not born in my state you pronounce it 'Misouree'; but if you are born in my state, and you have to live your entire life in my state, you pronounce it 'Misery.'" |

| When you pull in the left(rear) brake you need to hear 2 clicks. The second click is beyond what I would call a "normal" brake squeese. My second click was very weak, and somtimes it would not crank. I cleaned it and all but just replaced it in the end. Easy switch to test and to switch out. cheap also..

I read this and had to immediately go to my bike to test it. Absolutely true. My second click is definitely weaker than the first, so if I ever have similar issues I'll know where to look. Thank you DLK! |

| With no starting at all ... also ... maybe check that the emergency kill switch wasn't bumped into the off position. Once at a stop light on a hot summer day somehow I bumped it, unknowingly, and of course the bike shut off. As the light turned green I finally found that was the problem, after moments of panic in wondering what shut it off. Mike |

| Hi. I recently purchased a Silverwing 600 and the previous owner had bypassed the stand switch. Yesterday I got on then all warning lights shut off after I put up the stand. I want to reconnect the safety and see if that is causing the problem. I cant seem to find a video on how to access it or reconnect the original safety. My battery is fully charged. |
