“Booster” - Booster Plug Empty
PostSubject: Booster Plug   “Booster” - Booster Plug I_icon_minitimeTue Sep 17, 2019 2:11 am

I just bought the Booster plug and installed it and it does make the bike run richer as I can see black soot in the tail pipe and on the baffle when I removed it from my Delkevic exhaust.
What I want to know is if I just removed the air sensor from the intake air box and blocked the hole it came out of and placed the sensor in a clean/cool air path of flow would it be the same as the sensor on the Booster Plug?

This is the air sensor in the airbox and where the Booster Plug is plugged inline with the sensor.

But if I was to move the air sensor into cool clean air wouldn't that be the same as installing the booster Plug with it's sensor also in cool air?

This is the actual Booster Plugs' sensor that I have next to the passenger peg mount.

I also installed a K&N Pod filter with the Delkevic exhaust.
The 05's doesn't come with the O2 sensors, I ask Booster Plug about using the poduct without an O2 sensor they said it will work but full time.

Would like to hear some logic of if it would or would not work Question
not trying to start an argument but just an honest question that I thought of while installing the Booster Plug sensor in the cool air area.

Since you’ve already purchased the Booster Plug, why not try relocating the IAT sensor? Whaddya got to lose? BTW there have been a couple of earlier discussions re Booster plugs / IAT sensor mods. Here is a link to one:
https://www.silverwing600.com/t10310-iat-sensor-modification-intake-air-temp-sensor?highlight=IAT+sensor

Does your Booster Plug replace the IAT sensor? If so, does it use the OEM wire harness plug and if not, how does it attach to the IAT wire harness?

Please let us know how your Booster Plug and IAT sensor experience plays out. We all benefit from shared information.

Tim

Yes I've read those threads, way over my head  Shocked  I needed a plug and play for my skills Razz

I'd like to try that but then I'd have to extend the OEM air sensor wires to relocate where I have the Booster Plug sensor.

It does not replace the sensor but goes inline with male and female plugs to plug into the OEM sensor(I didn't get a picture of that).

What about putting the OEM sensor into a hydro flask/bottle with ice to simulate and trick the sensor with cool air..LOL! Throwing that out for replies.

Your idea of an IAT sensor in a cold flask pretty much speaks to what that booster plug does: It’s a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor which operates at a lower temp range than the OEM IAT does. That NTC in combination with the IAT BS’s the system into delivering more fuel.

You could always add a switch to that Booster Plug wiring so that you could opt to turn it off and operate solely on the IAT when you wanted.

Actually the “IAT sensor mod” has been around for quite some time. Here are some links

You my friend are a wealth of knowledge 🤙🏽
I guess there are no stupid questions because it’s already been asked and a nick knack and gadget has been invented for it, the part is to invent something,
become a millionaire and retire, it aint gonna happen for me.
I like the switch idea for on and off, because the 02 sensor does that, it only activates the Booster Plug in closed loop where my bike has no 02 sensor it is active and adds fuel constant since no 02 sensor to regulate fuel and air delivery.....as per Booster Plugs explanation 🤔

How did I miss this post? I know was on vacation. I've been running Booster Plug all this summer and it works great. Adds a bit of fuel on acceleration you can smell it on cold start before converter warms up. All stock except for sliders. Mounted air temp. sensor in air box intake tube nice flow of air there.

Fuel mileage is still good and runs a bit better.
