Joined the forum today but have had my 2005 SW for a couple of years now.  I refer to it as my "rescue" bike because the first owner had it for 13 years and only put 5,000 kms (3,000 miles) on it.  He lives on the same street and noticed I was a rider by the motocross bike in my garage.  After several years of putting him off, I test rode it.  What a revelation!  I misspent my youth and young adult years on 750cc Kawasaki triples (H2s) and thought the SW wasn't going to do it for me.  Wrong!  It's plenty quick for my 63 year old reflexes.  Gave up motocross a couple years ago and enjoying more time riding and almost no time wrenching and maintaining the SW. I do all my own work so this forum will be a great resource.  Thanks all.

Hello & and welcome to the forum. I owned two Kawasaki H-1 500's in the day. Looking back those bikes had I believe 50h.p., thought they were really something. Now I would like to come across one to see how the Silverwing would compare to it on acceleration. If I could posses only one bike, it would be the 'Wing. Paul

Hello swnorth. Welcome to the forum.

Hey, Ontario is a rather large place. Perhaps you are in the cultural metropolis of Hearst.

Thanks

I do know Hearst but I am almost as far south as one can get in Ontario, in a tiny village on Lake Erie called Port Rowan.

Port Rowan? OMG, if you were any further south you’d be in the parking lot of the Walmart in Erie, PA.

A warm 92* WELCOME from East Tn.
If you get an problem - all that's necessary
is post your question. I'm sure someone has
experienced the same thing. Don't be bashful.
Again a WELCOME from the land of Davy Crockett
and the 17th President Andrew Johnson.
I no longer ride  due to AGE & health, sold my 06
S/W but want to assist anyway I can.

I don't put many kms on each season so took a couple to determine what I want to modify.  With the help of this forum, it's time to get to work!

Yup, on a clear day, if I look south, I can almost see PA.
