| Hi everyone, I'm going to do the Saddle Sore ride with a couple of other riders in our scooter group on April 24th. So I'm going to do a couple of 500 mile rides to warm up. I have done a couple of 500 miles days before but it been awhile. Has anyone done this yet and do you have any advice for me? I'm sure it will be tough but I don't see why I can't do this. The long rides I have done have not been a problem at all. I did some long days on the Reflex and Majesty I had but the SWing just does the long rides so much better. I will take pics and, of course, plenty of notes to document all the miles. |

| I live in georgia, family in Illinois. Bought my 08 SW in March of last year. Went to visit parents, loved the ride so much, I ended up visiting them 2 more times last summer. Got the Cardio Teamset and when riding solo got my 70's music on my mp3, on long trips and my air hawk, lol. I just make sure when I stop for fuel I drink plenty and walk aound and stretch my legs a good bit. 3 times, 1500 miles, each time in 5 days and loved each ride. Including at least 2 days in rain each trip. |

Has anyone done this yet and do you have any advice for me? Doing seat calisthenics (non-standard seating was helpful on the long runs sorta like riding on an airplane for lone hours find a way for some movement. For example turning left touch your right knee to the gas tank providing good blood flow ... then switch to the other way. Watch what you eat ... not too much sugar (avoiding the sugar lows). When driving a car on very long trips I do take some hard andy like Jolly Ranchers to keep me entertained and awake which helps ... I would not recommend unraveling the wrapper while riding though. A quick short stop ... pop a Jolly Rancher and it will last for awhile and get you through the tired portions. |
