Arrow Drawn on Driven Pulley

I'm curious. I noticed that my driven pulley (moveable face) has a hand-drawn arrow on the outer side. The picture in the service manual has the same, almost identical arrow on it:

2 Possibilities Loosemarbles. The first possibility is that your SWing got the exact same driven pulley that's in the photo in your service manual.
Second possibility is that the previous owner drew the arrow on the pulley because either he or the service tech couldn't remember which direction the belt went.
There could also be a third possibility that neither of the first two are true.

Was there a graffiti artist at work in the Honda factory perhaps?

Could be that the arrow was placed there during an investigation by Inspector Clouseau so that he tell which end was up.

It's a fake, photoshop, ....  



You guys realize, that now I'm going to have to unpack my NIP pulleys, that are in my remote storage facility, like right now, to further investigate this "Enigmatic Mystery"  do not move from the computer, I'll be right back .........

OH no I must be bored I had to pull my spare driven pulley of the closet and check.  Mine has a green line on face and clutch shoes also.

That "Arrow" looks like my own writing style , can't confirm or deny that I was coerced or influenced by a subliminal or external force to draw it, , but indeed is backwards
IAC the plot thickens, may have to summon more resources to solve this riddle should have verification anyday on my NIP parts, check for daily updates here🥱🤫

Well I have taken actual pics of my NIP, both pulleys have a green curved stripe, there's a few other markings on rivet heads, etc. I'm inclined to believe that they are some kind of "Tribal Knowledge" marks used to indicate completion of a step in a shop process or assembly reference marks to maintain balance on multipart assy   Probably only understood  by people in that shop. BTW none of the markings were "Arrows"

LOL, old tech to new apprentice, want to have fun with those DIY guys? just draw things on parts when you put them back together.

As a DIYer I would go along with that. Some people write messages on their walls before wallpapering in the hope that the next occupants will be mystified.

However, what about the guy in the Honda factory? ey?

After considerable consideration, I put it to this forum that Mr zrx212 is our culprit, for the following reasons:

1. How do we know whether or not the said culprit is actually of Japanese descent (has anybody met this guy?), and that he got fired from Honda for pulling pranks?

2. He uses code for his forum username?

3. He seems to have very specific knowledge and schematics of the Silverwing operating systems?

4. He has an uncanny knowledge base, usually only available to Honda employees?

5. The arrow he drew on his pulley surface is a decoy? So are the markings on his new parts?

If you lived in London zrx212, (or whatever your name is), they would tell you that; "you've been rumbled matey"!

Well being from the other side of the pond and having no earthly idea of what it means. I can neither confirm or deny, any statement or observations, or as we say over here "Take the fifth", to protect my ....

But we'll be looking into the "Loosemarbles" clan dossier for irregularities ... 🤫
