Posting Long URLs

I have been guilty in the past of putting URLs/links in posts which have caused the thread to expand sideways, making it awkward to read.
I was directed to a site which will simply shorten them so they fit the page.
I'm no computer-techie but have found the site easy to use - I expect there are others just as good or even better:
