| I was just offered a Dynojet Power Commander lll with usb, Model # 123-410 for $20. Are they worth the effort of installing it?

| Hi Brian, quick question, did it come off a Silverwing as the maps and connections come model specific. Otherwise you have some homework to do. There are newer devices out now that are a lot easier to fit( 1 plug change over)(Booster Plug being 1 such item) and do the same job of fuel enrichment during stage 1 of throttle, there's no gain from a commander on stage 2 and 3 of throttle control mapping Honda got those right. Stage 1 mapping is designed to burn learn to meet emissions so any enhancement of fuel will make it run a lot smoother around town. Yes I use a Booster Plug.
Hope this helps.

| Thanks.
It’s definitely from a Silverwing but I don’t know yet which tune is on it. Although it sounds like it’s fairly easy to upload tunes such as the European version. |

| Hi Brian, well for "20 dollar" it has to be worth a try in my opinion. It should also have at least 5 maps in stock form to start you off playing with it. Keep us updated please.

| Well the $20 price is right so just on that alone, it looks like a no brainer.
However, to maximize what the PCIII is designed for and capable of doing goes well beyond. Changing the fuel mapping on a vehicle generally affects other things. i.e. on our SWings, the exhaust, roller weights, contra spring etc.
And once you figure all of that stuff out, getting set up with a good dynamometer tech to tune and coordinate all the pieces is necessary to get the most out of the PCIII addition.
And the above costs quite a bit more than $20.
I guess it depends on your goals and what you're looking to achieve which you haven't stated. |

I guess it depends on your goals and what you're looking to achieve which you haven't stated. At this point, I’d just like to get a couple more mpg while towing my trailer. My normal fuel efficiency is 48-52mpg but it dropped to 35mpg towing the trailer I brought on my current trip. |

| From everything I've read, most SWing owners add them for added quickness and speed. I don't recall any who were looking for better fuel economy. Never having had one myself, I can not speak from first hand experience whether your stated goal will be achieved ... even modestly.
You may want to start off with a lighter throttle hand and see what that nets you. |
