Battery size on a 2002

My battery compartment is only 3 1/2 in. tall and the ytz12s not only does not fit in an upright position but my positive lead is toward the front of the scooter. The dead ytz12s battery that came with it was strapped to the sidewall with plumbers tape. What gives??

Hey Bob,

The (+) terminal is alway to the front position when installed in the scooter. What year is your SWing?

Why not use the right battery?

DAAAAAA!! I know the parts manuals like the back of my hand and didn't think of it lying on it's side. I checked an earlier post here and the poster said to install it upright. Brickbrats to him. Orchids to the poster that set me straight!! I hope to be of some help on this forum since my Swing was in a fire and I completely redid it.
