| I dragged this one out of the archive. Apologies for us oldies who may have seen it before but SW pictures are hard to come by!
I trust we're all watching the weather in the northern hemisphere so that we can get some riding time clocked up.

| We still get the odd decent day where it's not freezing and the roads are dry after rain has washed off road salt from the council gritters.
I'm still doing the lunch rides I started doing on a regular basis in Autumn 2022. I almost always order the same meal in a specific type of eatery around my area or in two neighbouring counties. |

| This is the only pic of my Silver Wing I can find I haven't deleted. Most likely 2016 or 2017 on the car deck of a P&O North Sea Ferries ship after I strapped the scooter down for the overnight crossing from Kingston-upon-Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire, to Zeebrugge in Belgium. The yellow backpack on the seat contains my civvies. Getting out of my riding gear, having a shower, and then changing into casual clothes is much more civilised than strutting round the ship all evening in sweaty riding gear. Please use the pic if you're short on photos, or bin it. |

| My first Silverwing spent many hours strapped down on ferries, much like Meldrew's. It's an aspect not seen by many members of the Forum so might be a good picture for Forum Pic in the future. As an aside: when one travels on the vehicle-carrier trains through the Channel Tunnel, it becomes clear that the instructions for users are geared for drivers of cars. One of those instructions is to 'apply the hand-brake (parking-brake) for the journey'. There was a feeling of smugness when chatting to the stewards one could say, 'My maxiscooter has a hand-brake'. Little things! |

Little things! I think the hand brake is an excellent anti-theft device because unless you are or were a Swing owner the average thief would never think that the reason it doesn’t wanna roll for the is because the hand brake is on,,,the one bad thing is if you think it through is if your bike is on the center stand the thief would be able to get it off the center stand by rolling it forward then he would find himself stuck so there’s only two choices he has and that’s being considerate to the owner and putting the side stand down or he just walks away and lets it drop,,,,I’m a city dweller and you have to protect your stuff against thieves and think things thru,3 weeks ago someone stole my $25 cover and while doing it he broke off the last 5” piece of trim on the bottom on the right side of the bike,I guess it got caught when he was pulling the cover off ,I found a new one new for $80 but I’ll wait till I see someone parting out a silver Swing,,,and over the winter they stole one mirror off my 100cc scooter… Sorry bout the rant ,I’m done… |
