| I was thinking about getting a bike that requires shifting gears and keep the silverwing,I'm afraid of getting confused with auto and shifting when changing between bikes, any opinions? |

| I do it all the time between my Silverwing and Goldwing. I did have a slight tendency to want to use the SW rear brake for a clutch at first but cured that by using the front brake only for the first couple rides on it. Just kept my left hand on the grip. It didn't really take long to get used to riding both. I think my motorcycle reflexes were more developed because I haven't had any trouble at all going from the SW to the Goldwing, haven't managed to stall stopping in gear or anything like that. One thing I have to remind myself on the SW is when stopping to "lead with the left hand" like a right handed boxer. I'm used to leading with my foot for the rear brake on motorcycles. |
