If you remember, I bought my 2002 Silverwing with 6,751 miles. So far I've changed the oil and final drive oil, and today I opened up the right side panel by following the great directions found on this forum), and I don't believe the air filter had been changed or cleaned in 8 years---really black and discusting---made me wonder how it ran so well. So, I cut the paper out of the original filter (took some time to do it well), and took some industrial, 1/2" filter foam---cut it to size, and taped it over the open space where the old one had been. This really worked slick---the Silverwing can get a decent breathe, and it runs with a new surge of energy. Great recommendation by a guy who knows something about air cleaners---cost me a couple dollars----Thanks so much!

Everett,

I did that with the Majesty I had but use the K&N air fliter now with the SWing. I hear the foam works much better than the paper filter. It seems you're really doing a lot of maintenance which is good.
