| Waspie, here in the States, we can get both kinds of Linseed oil.
1. Linseed oil is natural or synthetic and it doesn't really get hard. It stays kinda semisolid.
2. boiled Linseed oil is chemically treated to become hard after the solvents evaporate.
You cannot get "boiled linseed oil" by just boiling "Linseed oil" .
Does this make sense to you. Hope this clarifies it a bit.
P.S. you may make a BIG fire trying to boil linseed oil. Like boiling gasoline. POOF! ALso DO NOT throw oil osaked rags in the trash. Let air dry before disposal, They tend to self ignite and cause fires. I know. Don't ask.

MaxB Thanks Max, the info will save me much embarrassment. I'll stick to a bottle of the oil from the store. |
