| Hi,
Have you heard of the new prices of the '09 Burgmans? The B650 is almost $1,000 more than the Silver Wing ABS version. That is a lot of money IMO. Also, the B400 is $500 more than the Majesty so I wonder how they will do next year. I'm not sure if I could pay $10,000 for a scooter with only a 650cc. The new '09 Burgman Executive is $9,700 which seems quite a bit. The Silver Wing ABS is $8,800 and that is quite a bit to me.
I love my SWing but it seems if the prices keep going up then it is going to price quite a few people out of the market. Still, I can't see going back to a motorcycle. I'm just glad I got in at the right time and my SWing should last me many more years. |

| I agree Jeff. On the one hand that seems like a lot to pay for a scooter, but then when you consider how well it serves its purpose and how much fun it is to ride, well then, I don't know. I am just very pleased that I already have mine and I can enjoy riding and saving money. There is a Suzuki/Yamaha dealership here in Littleton that has quite a few scooters (Burgmans, Majestys, and some European looking things). A few weeks ago the were running a big sale and you could hace bought a new 2008 Burgman 650 (not the executive model)) for only $5,999.00. I tried to get it for my wife, but she said she didn't want it and wouldn't ride it. Some times I don't know about her... |

| Looks like you need to send your wife to a re-education camp. That is a great price for a B650. I wonder why they are so cheap. The scooters here don't stay on the floor long at all. I will say that I really like the SWing and can't see going to a motorcycle but I can't believe they are raising their prices in the middle of a world wide recession. |

| I agree with you concerning the "re-education" program for my wife. What I think would be cool is to introduce her to a bunch of very fun scooterists (hmm I like that word) and get her really hooked on riding. I think that over the next few years we are going to see a gradual increase in energy prices, and I think that is why we are seeing scooter prices holding up or even increasing a bit. |

| DCC,
Try just going to your profile and changing your user name and see what happens. I think it will work. |

| Jeff: I did what you suggested and it worked. So now DCCSilverwing07 is "The Scooterist". Sort of reminds me of an old movie by "The Duke". |

| The price of a new Silverwing in Canada is $10,500 Cdn!! I found a leftover '05 for $6000 so I didn't do too badly at all. Of course, I would be hard pressed to spend 10 large on any motorcycle given we only get a few months to ride anyway. Scooterist is not bad but how about scooterista (kinda like the Ducati people). |

| If you look back at the prices of all maxi scooters over the past year they always seem to go up aprox. $200 each year for each model. the problem is finding one. I started looking last Aug. 2008 for one, dealer could not get new ones in. I found my 09 S Wing on accendet. It had been on the floor for less than a week In mid Jan they had just sold 3 08 burg 400 that they recieved a week before xmas thats how fast they are selling. |

| There is a dealer here in Littleton that seems to always have a coup0le Burgmans both 400 and 650, and TMaxs. They also sell Benelli's, Schwinn, and maybe even a Vespa (at least it looks like one). Right after Christmas they had a 2008 650 Burgman priced at $5,999.00. Of course it sold pretty fast... Too bad they don't carry Honda bikes. |
