| Hi Fellow Riders, I was thinking of ordering a Givi E 370 top case, but they are a little pricey, can anyone suggest another make thats a little more reasonable. Thanks...Robert. |

| Givi while expensive can last a long time---my E-46 has been on many bikes and is at the over one half million mile mark, so I have gotten my monies' worth-----but is missing many of the parts that one doesn't need anyway. They fell off or were discarded.
So my suggestion for SilverWing......go to WalMart/K Mart buy red or yellow tool box in size you need, bolt directly to rear spoiler, if stiffener needed, piece of plywood. I don't care if locks or not, but these boxes are good cheap, visable and priced well under MC stuff. Will do this on next bike/scooter, if Givi gives out.
Smart to go with smaller sized box.
John Grinsel no wider than 24 ins---advice I had from Kermit the chair man. |

| You can search amazon for "scooter trunk" and get a lot of reasonably priced options.
It's difficult to tell the size from the pictures and descriptions. I wish there was a retail option but there really isn't. The scooter shops around here don't have more than one or two at the most.
I need to buy a medium sized ones for my wife's new scoot, and I will probably pick one of the Amazon ones if I can get the measurements and get a decent feel for the size. |

| If you want to save a lot of money. I would use the Bestem top box.
I have two on the reflex's I gave the Kids. They have been in use now for 3 yrs, Daily use on both.
I got the 2012 size for the reflex. It is about 36L . (fullface and some more) They look good and no problems.
Not as stout as GIVI's but hold up well.
You wil have to make some spacers to get it level on the wing. I used some 1/2 in electical plastic pipe. Or pvc !/2 in.
They also have the 926 which is about 46? L and a friend has one. Works well. Here is the site:

| I'll agree that they are priced like they are far superior, but how are they actually superior?
I guess I don't understand all that a top box can be. While I don't like the tacky idea that Gris suggests by putting a toolbox back there, I don't think I need a $200-$300 dollar solution either.
What do they do that my $60-$70 dollar generic top box doesn't do? |

Thanks for asking, but I'm still thinking about it. I'm beginning to really like the clean lines of the SWing without any Top Case or Saddle Bags...Ride Safe, Robert in Az. |

Robert, I'm with you on that. I almost regret getting the top cases for our SilverWings. They really make the rear of the bike look HUGE! We take the boxes off around town and when we are travelling, we take them off and leave them in the hotel. Only use them when travelling between locations. We (Kim and I) could get by without them. |

| I’m with Dale and Robert on leaving the top case attached to the bike, so we use the Givi T450 Trolley Soft bag.
(view it here http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/3858/69/).
It's the size of a TSA-approved roll-on suitcase that will fit in most overhead bins on a plane. It also has a separate, well padded, laptop pocket, along with space for office-type supplies (pens & whatnot). It has its own raincover as well. The case fits on both Monolock and Monokey systems (the Givi mounting rack system), so it's flexible, depending on your setup. |

That is one nice bag that would provide a solution to one of my equipment transport problems. |

| We have been caught in a few 100 mile plus trips in a light to moderate rain and the bag and the contense stayed dry under the rain cover. My sweetie, Tracey teaches at a university in Pittsburgh where parking is always scarce so she uses the Burgman when ever possible. The Givi trolley bag is all she needs to get her vast array of school stuff from bike to office, classroom and every meeting and lecture hall she visits in her daily routine.

| Hi Robert. If you do decide to fit a top case, hope this helps… I have found Givi luggage to be expensive but very well made, the plastic is thicker, the locks and hinges are better quality and I have never had one let the rain in. I have the huge Givi V46 with the black gloss lid to match the bike and the optional high level brake light and it looks great. Also probably due to the large fairing of the Silverwing the top case does not seem to affect the handling unlike most other bikes I have had. Not sure making the rear of the bike look huge is a bad thing Dale, maybe you have better drivers in your part of the world and not the myopic clowns we have in London & the S.E of England. It is quite noticeable how drivers get closer when the top case is not fitted! |

I don't like riding with the box on mine. I can see it over my right shoulder and it looks like someone is riding right on my @$$. I assume it also causes a little blind spot there too. I try to remember to remove it unless it's on there for a reason. I tell you what, tho, it is handy when it's needed. I got a $2 bag at Home Depot and use it at the grocery store. If it fits in that bag, it will fit in my Givi. |

I have noticed the same thing. My GIVI V46 has Admore LED lighting installed. That, plus the Admore mini light bar just below it, cause drivers behind me to change lanes. A car following takes only about 20 seconds before they're changing lanes. I'm sure all those bright lights at their eye level are very distracting and annoying. Perfect! They're doing their job! |

| I remove my top case when I ride unless I know I need to go to the store. But sometimes I wish I would have bought a Givi or Shad case since I'm not all that pleased with the Besteem case. It rattles and the part you have to pull to open it is just about broke. If I buy another case it will probably only be a 30-35 liter case and not the really big ones.
But when I had my V46 on my Majesty I really did like it and they are really nice nad well built cases. |
