Marc Parnes tire balancer Empty

After my front tire change (first time) with Bridgestone Hoop, I watched as they balanced the tire with their No-Mar tire balancer ( http://www.nomartirechanger.com/products/9 ). It took awhile to balance the tire with a lot of weights. They could not get the tire perfectly balance .... but decided it was close enough.

I purchased the Marc Parnes tire balancer ( http://www.marcparnes.com/Motor_Scooter_Wheel_Balancer.htm ) for my tire change. Marc Parnes procedures suggest checking testing the rim without the tire to determine the heaviest spot on the rim. The heaviest part of my rim was not tire valve but about three inches forward of the tire valve.

Balancing the same rim though different tire Michelin Gold Standard, I was able to balance the tire very quickly and very accurately. I only had to four 1/4 ounce weights (two on one side/two on other side) for a total of ONE ounce ... and the tire was perfectly balanced.

Even though this was the first tire that I statically balanced myself ... I was able to perfectly balance the tire even after starting the heaviest spot in multiple locations.

So either the Michelin Gold Standard is a better balanced tire or the Marc Parnes balancer made the balancing more accurate. I believe the Marc Parnes balancer made the difference.

Why wrestle with balancing when you can use Dynabeads? =)
