| You might try pushing down on the moveable butt rest pad while turning the key. That has helped others in the past. |

| There are two lock cages - one at rear, and a center one under the rider butt pad. With key in unlock position, pushing down at rear has released rear, and horizontally jimmying the seat right / left / right / left, etc. has worked for me.
Good luck |

| Same here; when I put my saddle-bag straps under the seat, the centre lock 'jams' shut. Pressing on it does the trick. |

| Found the same thing on the day I rode the Silver Wing home from the seller's house. With the top of my XL helmet in the trunk making just enough contact with underside of the saddle, the center latch became stuck. What to do?
After much trial and error, leaving the key turned in the lock and pressing downward on the saddle directly over the center latch provides an audible "sprong-g-g" as the center latch releases and the saddle opens. Sometimes it's necessary on the rear latch as well, but not with quite the same sound effect.
Caused me some frustrated moments the first couple of times it happened, and I may understand exactly how you feel now. But the same procedure works every time. |
