| My son Connor borrowed my scooter and locked the only key in the seat @ his job site. Can someone text me or email me @ 816-521-8420 or jeff.overman96@yahoo.com and tell me how to get it opened?
Please and thank you!!!

| Your 1st post and you are asking us to help you break into a scooter? Maybe a long time member we have reason to believe owns a Silverwing someone might help.
But a newbie with no verification...Nope. |

| For reasons already explained we're unable to explain the method to you. However, you are in the Kansas City metro area so you should load the Silverwing up on your truck or trailer and take to your local Honda shop. They'll have access to that information and can open the seat for you. Consider the inconvenience and price you'll have to pay as a lesson learned. Then pass that expense and lesson on to your son along with a serious dope-slap. |

| Okay I understand we are the in same way in www.TheAMCForum.com. we require 30 points to post pictures and/or to sell anything. Found a Locksmith that will do it for $40.

| Never had to worry about this happen on my ole FJR but my son was to young to ride it; he's 20 now. First day at a new job and he was in a hurry and put the key in the pocket of my leather jacket then locked it the trunk!!! Wish I was young again so I could make silly mistakes like that. Jeff O. | Jeff, Thanks for understanding the problem of open posting this information. I never thought about it until it was posted here. Too trusting I guess. I'll bet that locksmith will also be making you an extra key. As our more learned members say; "Glad you got it sorted." The story of the key stored in the stored jacket will probably be a family memory. "Hi Yo" Lewis |

| Haven't looked into the SW seat locking mechanism but on my B650 allot of us ran a wire from the seat release down under the rear Tupperware and could access and release the seat. I'm sure it's possible on the SW too. You'll never be locked out of your trunk again. |

| DOH!! I am guilty of doing worse... Not only did I lock my key under the seat, the spare was on the same key ring too.
So I'm getting out the service manual to see for sure where the seat cable is routed. I hope to be able to release the latch much in the same way I know how to do that on my Reflex scooter.
Had to push that beast about a mile to where the rental storage space is where it could be safely kept overnight. Not as young and strong as in my youth and woefully out of shape, but I made it.
All the years I have owned scooters and this had not happened to me before. It's true that there is a first time for everything....& a last time too... And I hope for this that it was both.
UPDATE EDIT: Success! and it only took a few minutes to figure it out and get it open in similar fashion to releasing the seat latch on my Reflex. |
