| Well, I said it would never happen to me... WRONG... I got all the panels of my scoot back on today and got ready to ride it to town for the first time. I wanted to take something with me so I grabbed the key and tried to unlock the trunk. NOTHING... I forgot to check the mechanism before I closed the trunk.
I know I read about this problem that some of you have already had and some solutions that work for you. I have done a search and nothing comes up. I would appreciate someone reposting the link for me.
Thanks Gary |

| Hey Gary, Did you forget to hook-up the cable on the lock set? I did that once. Remove the bottom panel screw and carefuly pull out on the back panel to release the push/spring clips. Reach under the panel and pull on the cable end. The seat should release. |

| Dennis ... I am not positive either way. I think I hooked it up, but, it feels like I might not have. I just took some new pictures that I am putting on the picasa album. Then I will go look. I still have my big hammer... I can try that too. |

| There is a metal bracket that holds that cable, which is attached to the side panel. I had the same issue. It turns out, the bracket bent just slightly and I was unable to open the seat. Just bend the bracket so there is tension on the cable and you will be good. |

| Got it. It appears that I did not have the cable adequately engaged in the bracket. Got it all adjusted now. Did not have to get the big hammer out after all. |
