| One of our newer members wanted a bit of help.
His dealer told him to absolutely not use Gasahol in his Swing. I'm not sure of the alcohol content of "gasahol", but the local law dictates 10% ethanol in the gasoline here every winter. It has not harmed any of my newer vehicles. |

| Hi from "Old Dave" in Western Nebraska, U.S.A. I had asked Jon about the "Ethanol." My dealer here says not to use this as has had damage caused by it. We do have one station here in town that does not have it in any of their products. I use their gasoline. My Silverwing is a 2005, I put a "Bestem" T-box on it, a Vista Cruise lock, and blue Led's in the cowl and underneath. Looks good at night and is also a safety feature. I lined the box, and put different rubber bumpers under is so it does not rattle. |

| Hi "Old Dave". Your lucky that you can find strait gasoline. Here in Chicago, all we have is the alcohol/gas mix. When I travel out of state I can tell the difference in the gas blends. Strait gas gives me better mpg and better performance. I have used the gas blends in both my 03(RIP) and 08 Swings with no problems. I know that if you mix your own blend with too much alcohol you can damage some rubber parts as well as the paint if it spills. Since I don't make my own alcohol, I don't have a problem.
And by the way, welcome to the group.
Have a great day bob |

| Dave,
Could your dealer be talking about E85? That seems to be the latest rage in enviro conscious Boulder town. My guess is that E85 would do serious harm to the plastic bits in the fuel system. |

| Jon,
He indicated any of fuels made from "grain" like corn etc. I do know when I was in the car business there were lots of car engines you were not to use the "grain" based fuels in. Caused valve problems etc.

| Burning alcohol in an engine seems like a waste of good alcohol... |
