| Neat job "phantom".
Do you think a couple coats of gloss black spray paint would hold on okay to that piece ?? Or would that not be a good suggestion for that area ?? |

| i can't see why it couldn't be painted if you wanted to.as it is the opposite side to where damage (stone chips ) would be.i'm gonna leave as is. |

| Hi phantom, I like that. You did a first rate install. Did you use all stainless hardware (screws, washers, and nuts)...Looks like you did. |

| Hi I have used 4 of these extenders since 1994 and just use a solvent weld glue, as used by plumbers to join waste pipes here in the u k The osma brand works very well with the pyramid make, just secure with a clamp till set and use next day no screws needed Gadget |

| I know it's an old thread but has anyone else tried this cut-off fender extender on their SW?
I just found an extender for the CB500F, CB500X and CBR500R for £16.99 and I'll buy it if it works.
'Guest' seemed a bit vague with his introductions and it was a long time ago so I just wanted to see if anyone else has done this. It sounds like a good, practical and cheap mod. |

| I put one cut from an old inner tube and glued it in place with contact cement. When I sold that scooter some time later it was still holding well. It did the job and was flexible enough that it couldn't break off and it couldn't damage the fender if something hit the extender. The inner tube was stiff enough for the job because of it's curve. The I don't think a bicycle tube would be thick enough unless one laminated two pieces with contact cement to get the desired thickness and stiffness. |

| Done mine in a similar way earlier this year when I got the Swing, I had some old rubber matting cut a shape out, took off & cleaned under the front mudguard, stuck the flap with "No more nails" and job done. Easy to do and helps stop the crud getting in the radiator. Kev |

| Thanks guys, it's next on my list too. Goonerkev has done a neat job. The reason I thought of going for the CB500 type was for an easy option. If it has the correct curvature and is a simple case of cutting the top off, then it sounds like the simplest method. I'll give a some more thought... |
