Just rode the 'Wing' back from it's 8k service and what a difference! It was almost like a new machine.
I had noticed that I was lacking in speed at the top end and it was becoming slower from a standing start. Mentioned this to the mechanic and he said he would have a look.
I was surprised to hear what the cause was, in fact I would never have given it a thought.
My grip on the throttle had become unstuck and wasn't rotating as it should. That was re-stuck and when I opened the bike up during my own road test, wow did it pick up and go. I have my smile back again.
So!! If anyone starts to suffer from a sudden drop in top end speed, try looking at the throttle grip as a starter. (Has to be cheaper than a lot of remedies).
Now have to wait to get my car back after reversing into an immovable object on Sunday!!!!! Crunched the bumper, (aka fender
), and crunched it proper!! Thank goodness for insurance. I'll hammer the hire car for a few days until I get my four wheeled steed returned.
Ride safe every one.
