| Hi all, new to the site, purchased a Swing a couple of weeks ago. Great scoot, but not too impressed with unpleasant vibes coming through the footboards at low rpms, especially under strong acceleration. Is this normal? Can't believe it's a Honda! The scoot is as smooth as glass from 50 -100 mph, but anywhere up to 40 mph vibes can be felt - sometimes quite harsh. I've read that a JR Costa variator will smooth out most of the vibes, but I don't want to spend £300 if it doesn't! Any thoughts and/or experiences - is the JR Costa easy to install? Cheers. |

Hello, and welcome to the forum. The J. Costa will get rid of the vibes. The J. Costa was easy for me to install. I can't predict if it will be easy for you to install I suggest you start reading the many threads already posted here about the J. Costa. It will take several hours to pore over all the info. Then you'll be able to predict if you can install it yourself or not. |

| An alternate solution to the J Costa is to use lighter variator weights, or even better, Dr Pulley slider weights.
Do a search on Dr Pulley and you will find a lot of info.

| I just bought a 2003 Silver Wing, its a great bike but there is a vibration coming from the front of the bike at acceleration and at any speed.
It sounds like plastic on plastic rubbing.
Has anyone had the same problem and how can I fix it? |

| I tightened all the screws around the dash, and then found the metal plate I put in the right glove box to place the sidestand on was vibrating. So those two steps cured my vibration noise. |

| I just solved my vibration noise problem, here's how. I have been riding with a open face helmet, yesterday I bought a full face helmet, a Vega Summit II, it cut down the vibration noise problem big time and it's more comfortable. Should have done it sooner. As most know the vibration noise is common with the Swing but not a problem. The down side it is, I can't hang it on the handlebars as it's much more valuable than the open face, I have to put it in the trunk. |
