| Did you moved the handlebar a little bit? The lock can only engage in a specific position nearly the left endstop |

| Mine will lock at either end, not quite at the stop. There is a touch. You have to push the key in, but not too hard and the bars have to be in the right spot. |

I've never been able to lock my Silver Wing, either. My Morphous locks without the slightest problem. Tried all of the tips in the posts after yours, without success. |

| Like others here, I have been able to lock the steering by moving the handlebars to the left to stop and backing off just a tiny bit. Pushing key in and turning to lock while finding sweet spot of handle bar. Not hard to do, but might take a little practice to learn. I have never tried the turning to right. Gonna try that later today. Good luck Gary |

| Mine locks left or right.
Don't actually think about it, I just turn the bars and depress and turn the key to lock the bars.
That said, I don't lock the bars left/right often, if at all. I tend to use the HISS. I often read about thieves breaking the lock when stealing a bike adding to the cost of repair if/when the bike was recovered. |

| So the steering doesn't lock. you've fiddled about, maybe squirted WD-40 into the lock and it still doesn't work. It's not the end of the world, just find another way to secure the scoot. You can always have another go in a few days, and it might work then. |

| I'm sure you've tried this but with the bars straight or a bit to the left. Push the key in, hold it in and and apply constant pressure as you slowly turn the bars to the left. That way when you get the bars to the right spot, the key should just turn into the lock position. If this doesn't work it's likely broken in some way. You could also try and take all the weight off the front wheel which should allow you to experiment with the positioning of the bars more easily |
