Hello folks,
When the weather gets a little warmer, I plan on installing the jcosta variator I purchased from Scootertrap. I've been looking at its design and I have a couple of questions. Unlike the original weight pulley (which is designed to turn with the driveshaft), the jcosta appears to rely on belt pressure to spin the weight pulley. Does the bell housing turn with the weight pulley or is it stationary? Does the bushing turn with the shaft or is it stationary? If the bell housing is supposed to be stationary, how does the bushing turn without creating serious friction somewhere? I'm sure I'll get a better idea once I get in there. It just doesn't seem obvious to me based on everything I've read. Thanks.
