| Anyone replace body parts on their Silverwing. Had a little accident and ratched the right side of the bike but also need to replace dash and other wraparound body panels. Not likely that you can get used parts but any words of advice? I'm in Alberta Canada and don't really want to go to the dealer but... thanks for any input. |

| Daviking, Welcome to the forum and post some pics sometime. I do need to replace my back panel on the left side but I haven't done it yet. I was just going to buy it from the dealer so sorry I can't help you out on this one. I will be looking for responses since I am going to replace it this spring or summer. Welcome. |

| daviking,
In the past (and most likely in the future) I've used Service Honda for my replacement body panels. I'd recommend that you purchase a service manual as that makes the task much easier.
We have 2005 SilverWings and I've replaced all but 3 pieces of tupperware on Kim's bike due to an accident. I upgraded the dash from the painted to the 2007 and later textured plastic on both bikes. I cannot imagine how hard the task would have been if I did not have the service manual. You may also need a parts manual and your paint code. The process is somewhat involved and you should have a bit of time to do the shopping, but it can be done. I created a spreadsheet to record the part numbers and prices. This allowed me an easy way to compare.
The links: Service Honda - http://www.servicehonda.com/parts.php Honda Direct - http://www.hondaparts-direct.com/fiche_select1.asp?cat=Scooters&mfg=Honda Ride Now - http://store.ridenow.com/fiche_select1.asp?cat=Motorcycles&mfg=Honda
Honda Direct and Ride Now have changed since I last used them and I am partial to Service Honda as they really provided outstanding customer service when I had a broken part in a shipment. You do need to have the part numbers to use the Service Honda page. All of these stores do have a parts lookup service I just had a parts manual so didn't use their lookups.
My parts manual is for the 2006 year (no real changes) and is a .pdf so if you e-mail me I can send you a copy. I can also send you the spreadsheet whish includes the parts data for the dash upgrade. |

| Lazy g*t that I am, can someone please tell me how to remove the LHS rear panel, please. I have done a Search but found nothing. I like to be sure of what I'm doing before tackling such jobs. |
