| When I had around 15,000 miles on my 2010 I had some work done on my swing at the dealership and knowing that when I got up to 16,000 I would need to change the belt. So I told them to change it while I had it there. When finished asked the service manager if they reset the timer on the belt so when I get to 16K it wouldn't have the light come on. He told me they did.
Well I just passed 16K and guess what? So how can I reset this light? |

| Thanks bigbird.......I've acknowledged you already in the Introductions section (I joined on 7th October specifically to try and find clues about how to turn the wretched `V' light off). |

| Thank you to both of you for asking the question and for answering it. It is good training for any who is reading and riding one of these Silverwings.
I am sure it will be useful to others in the future as well. |

| Thank you again Bigbird for all your knowledge and help on the one and only Silverwing forum. I just turned off my V light which came on at 21,000 10 sec. fix. You are appreciated. |

| Thanks to BigBird and many others who have contributed to the knowledge base for this great machine! Your willingness to "pay it forward" has really helped me personally in understanding and servicing the Silverwing.
Back to the subject...have tried the procedure described by BigBird and in the service manual...light goes out, then goes on 2-3 miles later... |

| The previous owner changed the belt at 19K miles. The bike currently has 25K. I have not personally been inside the variator.
I'm getting that there may be some wear issues I need to deal with...
Better pull out the service manual and see if this is something I can do... |

| There are a number of threads (some with pictorials) available under the search function. I've found the combination of the manual and the search function to be very helpful. I'm sure you know this, but some of the new members may not be aware of the wealth of information available using the search function. |
