Hi gang, I'm looking for a box for my scoot. I don't plan to haul much, just need a place for extras like first aid kit, headlamp (the kind you wear on your head, in case of night time emergency) lightweight jacket, hi visability vest, etc when not in use. What do you have on your scoot??? I usually pile it all into the trunk, but it would be nice to leave that clear for easy access for helmet, etc. Just wondering. Ann~

Dreamrsmom, Like "bigbird" says... do a looksee in the search function. Tons of info there. More or less depends on how much money you want to spend in order to 'fancy' it up. Myself; I'm a cheapskate and went with the 'Bestem929' unit. Not lined or well lighted but works great for me. And I've been remiss in not welcoming folks to this site.... so.. Welcome and Enjoy!

Ann, the GIVI trunks are top notch, and I've had them on several scooters. However, when I bought the used Silverwing last fall I decided not to spend several hundred on a GIVI with other things I needed worse. Searching Ebay, I found hundreds to choose from and ordered one from a dealer in California for about $65; its fairly small as I didn't want the hugh ones. The mounting plate is entirely diff from GIVI and can't be used to interchange boxes but I was able to drill the necessary holes in the tailpiece to get the plate attached. Its no where near the quality of a GIVI but works well for me. As mentioned above, look at the Bestem trunks: I've never seen one but over the past several years have read of numerous folks that were very happy with their quality. Also, I think I remember reading they use a mounting plate similar to GIVI.

Hi Ann, and welcome to the site, you can spend a little or alot, I saved my nickels and dimes, and just installed a Givi E52, I'am very pleased with the quality and size, combined with the under seat storage, you've got a pretty good touring bike, Ride Safe...Robert.

Ann, saw a Bestem for the firest time yesterday and its top notch. I'd say it compares favorably with Givi.

I have had the "Bestem" for lot's of Smiles now and it works great for me. I did line it with a material like you find on the seat backs of automobiles though and it really made a nice T-Box. Works for me and was in-expensive. Like $65 on sale... Old Dave
